This article was originally published as a local SEO and conversion guide. It used causal language about rankings, visibility, and conversions more confidently than our current evidence supports. Structured data can express a local organization, service, place, hours, area served, and other relationships when those facts are visible and supportable. It does not guarantee rankings, rich results, traffic, citations, or conversions.

Local clarity is the implementation goal

For a local business, the useful work is to keep names, addresses, service areas, opening conditions, contact points, and relationships consistent across the governed content model and the page. A shared vocabulary can make those facts easier to reuse across supported integrations, subject to each consumer's requirements and interpretation.

Eligibility is not an outcome

Correct structured data may help a page qualify for certain consumer features when the implementation and visible content meet the relevant requirements. Eligibility is not a ranking or display guarantee, and no markup can replace accurate content, reputation, helpful navigation, or a clear human experience.

What BlueMelon does
